We work alongside organizations that are ready to move differently with more honesty, more imagination, and more care for the people inside and around them.

This is not consulting in the conventional sense. We don’t arrive with a pre-packaged framework and just leave a report behind. We work with you as practitioners, people who are actively in the work with you, living in the same complexity you’re navigating, and genuinely curious about what your organization is trying to become.

We bring unique skills and experiences: foresight and systems thinking to help you see further; equitable design to make sure the path is just; and care-based relational practice to ensure the process itself reflects the culture you’re trying to build.

We intentionally work with you to build space at every step of the process to slow down, create space for curiosity, to recognize what people are bringing into conversations, what they will experience and leave with at the end of our time together.

For Organizations

Core Skills Practiced

  • Telling the Truth — To name what is actually happening, in our bodies, relationships, institutions, and systems, even when doing so is inconvenient, risky, or scary.
  • Weaving the Micro and the Macro — To attend to our embodied, personal experiences while connecting them to broader systems, histories, and power dynamics.
  • Holding & Metabolizing Contradictions — To remain present when multiple, seemingly opposing truths exist at the same time.
  • Practicing Curiosity – To stay open, to ourselves and to others, even when we feel triggered, defensive, or certain.

We regularly work with organizations on strategic planning, creative problem-solving, navigating organizational and governance challenges, building internal capacity, facilitating immersive experiences, simulating future scenarios, equity audits and co-designing ways of working that gesture towards alternative futures.

If you resonate with how we approach our work—curious, boundaried, generous, and committed to practice—reach out even if what you need doesn’t fit neatly into a category. We are always learning, and some of our best work has begun with someone saying I’m not sure exactly what I need, but I think you might be able to help me figure it out.

Research

Our research engagements are collaborative inquiries into the questions your organization is holding about your community, your culture, your systems, or the futures you’re trying to build. Projects can be short-term and focused, or long-term and exploratory. Deliverables are shaped by the needs of the engagement and always designed with integrity and care for the people whose stories are part of the work.

We believe knowledge is a collective resource that builds wealth and can lead to alternative futures.

We practice research within an equitable framework of relational care: we recognize the power that is yielded alongside who is researching, who shapes the work, how data is gathered and shared, the scale and depth of the work, who benefits from the work and how resources are distributed.

We draw on participatory research methods, foresight practices, and systems thinking within anti-oppression and liberatory practices to support organizations to understand not just what is happening, but why—and what it might mean for where you’re going. We hold the micro and the macro together, connecting lived experience to structural patterns. And we design research processes that leave participants feeling seen and heard, not extracted and exploited.

Strategy

Strategy with DIA can look like strategic coaching for leadership or teams, organizational development and transformation, culture change, DEI guidance, or support through significant transitions.

We start where you are ready and we go from there. Engagements can be short-term and project-based, or long-term relationships that evolve over time.

We believe that organizations don’t lack ideas or imagination, but they sometimes get stuck in old narratives and can’t see a way around them. We believe that strategy is not just about what you say you will do, but how you move.

We work with organisations to build internal capacity to name and navigate changes that are right in front of them while developing the skills to look beyond.

We see your strategy as a key tool in how you tell your story, how you navigate uncertainty and why that matters to you and your people.

We bring foresight and scenario planning into the strategic process, helping teams see beyond the immediate horizon and make decisions that are both visionary and grounded.

We use world-building and futures-thinking not as abstract exercises, but as practical tools for getting aligned on where you’re going and why. We integrate care-based relational practices so that how you build strategy reflects the culture you’re trying to create.

Facilitation

Our facilitation work takes many forms: conference sessions, workshops, retreats, strategic planning sessions, learning gatherings, community spaces, training and difficult conversations. We offer skilled facilitation directly to organizations, and we also work alongside organizations to help them develop and deliver their own, supporting both the design and the practice of facilitation as an internal capacity.

We believe change and imagination live in conversations. We continuously witness what emerges when people are held in their conversations with care and compassion: possibilities come to life and something shifts. We structure dialogue to surface what matters, to deepen shared meaning, to gather collective imagination and to bring ideas to implementation.

We see facilitation as a way to hold, guide and ease us towards more equitable futures.

We bring training and experience in Art of Hosting, Liberating Structures, anti-oppression and anti-racism frameworks, co-design and participatory engagement. We integrate equity and decolonization practices into everything we do.

We are known for bringing comfort to uncomfortable conversations, for building meaningful shared spaces, for caring for participants before, during and after, and for modelling humility throughout the process.
