Project Overview
DIA hosted a creative storytelling workshop at the Bentway, co-facilitated with Justine Abigail Yu of Living Hyphen. The session was tailored to elevate and amplify the voices of BIPOC and marginalized communities through storytelling.
Project Description & Outcomes
The workshop was part of DIA’s broader practice of community-based storytelling, designed around the goals, projects, and individuals in the room. It reflected an ongoing partnership with Living Hyphen, a community that explores the experiences of hyphenated Canadians — from diverse regions, backgrounds, and identities across the country.
These workshops are tailored to the goals, projects, and individuals we work with. If you are interested in hosting a workshop for your team or group, contact us to book a consultation.
What we Practiced
- Telling the Truth
- Practicing Curiosity
What we Imagined
Public and cultural spaces that are genuinely open to the complexity of hyphenated, newcomer, and marginalized identities — where storytelling isn’t a side program but the main event.
