Tell us a bit about yourself. (Feel free to speak to your personal and professional background and experiences, as well as your hobbies and interests)
I have been awarded a PhD (in Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery) by the University of Queensland, Australia. I very much like to connect with people, and connect people together and with their outside world. Having lived in different countries (other than my home land), I have understood the strange feeling newcomers feel, how much they would like to connect with people who speak their own language and how much they want to be understood by the people around them. My main interests and hobbies are sports (soccer) and studying. I spend at least 4-5 hours daily studying (mostly at libraries).
Why did you want to get involved with The Stories of Us project?
I found that this program connects people together, so that they can share their experiences together.
How would you describe your experience as a volunteer with The Stories of Us to a friend?
I love the program and am happy to share my knowledge and expertise with others.
How do you imagine Canada in 50 years from now? (This is a question that guides our work, and we would love to know and try to incorporate your vision into our work as well.)
Canada is a very big country with lots of opportunities (both discovered and undiscovered) and most of the immigrants to Canada are skilled, experienced and professionally educated people. If they are managed under an acceptable curriculum, Canada for sure will be among the top 3-4 very well developed countries in the world. If these valuable resources (millions of immigrants with different languages and from different cultural backgrounds) are not organized properly, it may have different effects.
